“The year was 2014. Social media, especially Facebook, was opening up. A new world was opening up. In my quest to find out what exactly do exhibitions on handlooms and handle crafts have to offer, I visited 'Paramparik Karigar' in 2014 at CSMVS, Mumbai. That's where I met Arati Hiremath first, founder of Artikrafts, and sole promoter of Kasuti embroidery back then. Arati had designed apparels which had traditional motifs of Kasuti embroidered on contemporary textiles. A simple < embroidered neckline and few butis on > the body enhanced the beauty of the cotton kurtas that she had for sale. What I liked more about her initiative was the fact that she was approachable and professional at the same time. Artikrafts has been into kasuti embroidery since 1990.
